Globe, Arizona
Named after a mountain range resembling a sleeping woman with her arms crossed. Highly prized for its solid soft blue color, with little or no matrix, ranging from a deep royal blue to a light sky blue. Forms in nuggets with soft white matrix, occasionally including small amounts of quartz or pyrite. During the Anasazi period this stone was used for trade, religious ceremonies & art.
